AFC East Draft Grades 2022

AFC East:

Buffalo Bills: C

The Buffalo Bills seem to be so close to a Championship. The city can feel it. I just don't think Kaiir Elam will be the pro some experts expect him to be. But I did like the pick of RB James Cook from Georgia in the 2nd rd. Heck call me crazy, but I think punter Matt Araiza in the 6th may be their most productive rookie this season.

Top Pick: RB James Cook

Player to Watch: CB Kaiir Elam

Miami Dolphins: B+

Miami only had 4 picks. Two of them were in the 7th rd. The reason for the grade is they acquired WR Tyreek Hill from the Chiefs. Getting a dynamic player like that is worth trading your draft for. And when Georgia LB Channing Tindall fell to them in the 3rd rd. Oh what a steal!!

Top Pick: LB Channing Tindall

Player to Watch: WR Erik Ezukanma

New York Jets: A+

The Jets are getting the best grade in the draft. They drafted possibly the best cornerback, wide receiver, defensive end, and running back. As dysfunctional as they have been in recent years with management. My goodness did they seem to get it right in this years draft. Zach Wilson heading into year 2 gets some weapons with WR Garrett Wilson and RB Breece Hall. We'll see if he can take a leap forward. And look out for a much improved defense.

Best Pick: CB Ahmad Gardner

Player to Watch: DE Jermaine Johnson II

New England Patriots: D

They get my worse grade of the draft. Picking guard Cole Strange at #29 overall when he may have dropped to say 3rd or 4th, explains it all

Best Pick: CB Marcus Jones

Player to watch: RB Pierre Strong
