Teddy Bridgewater Traded to Broncos
The Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos have agreed to a trade.
Broncos get:
Teddy Bridgewater
Panthers get:
2021 6th rd pick
One of the interesting factors in this trade is that the Carolina Panthers will pay $7 million to Bridgewater for the 2021 season, while the Broncos will only have to pay $3 million.
The Panthers tried trading Bridgewater earlier in the offseason to the Lions for Matthew Stafford, but the Rams beat them to it.
So for Teddy Bridgewater's service. The Carolina Panthers paid him $31 million for 15 games. Quarterback money really does grow on trees.
Draft impact:
The Panthers move on from Bridgewater as they have already acquired Sam Darnold from the Jets. With the #8 overall pick in this years draft. Is a quarterback back on their mind?
As for the Broncos. They still have Drew Lock and now a potential starter in Bridgewater for cheap. In my opinion, this takes them out of drafting a quarterback with the #9 overall pick.
